MTI History
From the time we first opened our doors in 1988, as a Career Training Centre, we have been committed to providing the highest quality career training and education possible.
In those early days, we were known as Metro Training Institute, and we consisted of a small handful of enthusiastic, committed, and idealistic educators.
We've grown over the years, attracted an awesome group of specialized instructors, and we've developed first-class programs after frequent consultations with agencies and employers in each of our program areas.
In the mid 1990's we shortened our name to Metro College, and in 2003 we became MTI Community College. Our new name reflected more appropriately our commitment to the community we deal with - including Federal and Provincial Governments, as well as individual British Columbians and international students.
We have always been committed to delivering Quality Training for Meaningful Jobs, and we will continue to focus on that principle as we grow.
From one small location in Surrey, B.C. in 1988 to 6 different facilities throughout the lower mainland and FraserValley of B.C., we have continued to build MTI Community College on a foundation of strong educational principles. We will continue this approach as we expand throughout the province over the coming years.
